Guidelines and Coronavirus Update Now Available Under SERVICING Section
The IAFE best practice guidelines for air conditioning is listed below. This has been upgraded in light of the Covid-19 pandemic to include a precautionary anti-viral treatment to each AC unit. This treatment is fully funded by the Institute when servicing is undertaken by an Institute recognised company or engineer. Please contact us for any further guidance or clarification. Self-application treatment kits are available at cost, under supervision, and onsite servicing includes full staff instruction on performing future precautionary applications.
Schools should ensure that any visiting engineer holds a minimum Category 2 Fgas qualification which should be presented along with photo ID. (See link below for govt guidelines).
A full Air Conditioning annual service should include:
Cleaning and disinfection of Filters
Cleaning and disinfection of drip trays and waterways
Cleaning and disinfection of evaporator coils
Cleaning and disinfection of condenser casing and coils
Inspection of drainage system
Sensor and valve checks
Load testing
Full pressure test and refrigerant check / Compressor oil level check
Leak checking
Fan vibration check
Safety device check
Check Bearings and lubricate if necessary
Check condensate pump operation if appropriate
Service certification provided to client
