Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In light of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Institute has endorsed the inclusion of an anti-viral treatment as part of standard annual servicing. This treatment will be included free of charge by Institute accredited companies and engineers.

The treatment (recognised by WHO and Dept for Health) is free of charge with all servicing but is also available in a self application kit which the Institute is happy to supply at cost. Onsite servicing includes full instruction to staff members by the visiting engineer on performing future routine treatments safely yourselves.

As an immediate precautionary measure to help minimise any potential spread of infection within a classroom environment, we also endorse and recommend venting classrooms and offices every 2 hours or so (ideally at break times and lunchtime) to encourage the circulation of fresh air. This applies whether an AC system is in heating or cooling mode.
